Understanding your issues

  • Too many Distractions
  • Lack of Focus
  • Lack of Self-control
  • ADHD Disorder
  • Too Little free time
  • Not satisfied with results

The problem now is that because our mind has been trained to work in intervals and to constantly seek some stimulus, it’s not possible to switch from a distracted to a focused life from one day to another. But you can train it, that’s why this diminishing trait can be very valuable in the future.

Research and common sense tells us that concentrating on a single thing and giving it our full focus yields much more results than the widely established habits of doing everything at once – but nothing with focus.

Let’s be clear, keeping your focus on the task you are performing is essential.

In fact, it is more important than the organizational methodology you use, the software on which you lean, or the countless productive tricks you employ throughout the day to save some time.

Self-control is what helps us control our emotions and impulses which enables us to behave in socially adequate ways (Knoch & Fehr).

Self-control often involves resisting temptations and impulses, and habits often undermine self-control. Humans are relatively successful at exerting self-control to achieve long-term outcomes (Hagger).

Is known as mental disorder of the neurodevelopmental type. It is characterized by problems paying attention, excessive activity, or difficulty controlling behavior which is not appropriate for a person’s age.

The symptoms appear before a person is twelve years old, are present for more then six months, and cause problems in at least two setting (such as school, home, or recreational activities.

In children, problems paying attention may result in poor school preformance. Although it causes impairment, praticularly in modern society, many children with ADHD have a good attention span for tasks they find interesting.

Why do people feel so rushed? Part of this is a perception problem. On average, people in rich countries have more leisure time than they used to.

The problem, then, is less how much time people have than how they see it. Ever since a clock was first used to synchronise labour in the 18th century, time has been understood in relation to money. Once hours are financially quantified, people worry more about wasting, saving or using them profitably.

If you don’t experience a sensation of success while working towards your goals, regardless of what stage of progress you are in, it is possible that the motivation is not coming from a place of hope.

To be able to truly embrace any action leading towards a life change, you must have hope that change is possible and that the action you have chosen will lead you there. Most importantly, you must believe that the change will improve your experience of life.

To achieve the success you desire, you need to engage in a process of rediscovering your drive for progress. This can be scary, but isn’t accepting this need for change, without judgment, far better than continuing to work hard and still feel unsatisfied and dispirited?
